We are seeking to appoint an experienced and confident Registered Manager, who is enthusiastic about raising aspirations and working in a Trauma Informed way, utilising PACE methods to enhance individualised support.
As a Manager, you will have a minimum of five years’ experience in a residential childcare setting, two of which will be at a supervisory level. You will be part of a caring team, that provides safe, nurturing and thoughtful long term residential care and support to children and young people.
Successful applicants will be committed to improving the lives and opportunities of children with complex needs. Leading a team in providing care and support, you will need to be organised and flexible in what can be a fast-paced environment. You will work creatively with a high level of active engagement in developing and supporting the team, providing formal supervision, appraisal and ensuring high quality practice at the home. You will be responsible for ensuring that the home is utilised in line with the Statement of Purpose, and RISCA registration.
Much of your role will be spent supporting the team to work effectively with children and young people, with the goal of supporting individuals, to achieve their personal goals.
This will involve you providing emotional and physical support to enable children and young people to reach their full potential, sometimes in challenging situations. This will include working actively with families and professionals to ensure care and support is personalised to meet individual needs.
The post holder will have a lead role within the home in ensuring that all the RISCA requirements are met, and that registration is maintained.
To succeed in the role, you must be passionate, patient and committed to those you work with, and the professional standards of the role.
As a full time, Manager, you will need to be prepared to work a full range of shifts, to ensure sufficient cover arrangements at the service. You will also be required to contribute to the on call system at the home.
Candidates will need to demonstrate:
You will hold the QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or predecessor qualification NVQ Level 3 (Children and Young People), and either hold or be working towards the QCF Level 5 Management Award in Health and Social Care. You will be registered with Social Care Wales.
