We have 2 x 30-hour Social Care Worker posts at Beech Cottage in Abercwmboi, Aberdare and 1 x 30-hour Social Care Worker post in Ystrad Fechan Bungalow in Treorchy. These are at GR5 grade, and hourly rate is £13.47 (£21,074 per annum for 30 hours) plus enhancements for weekends and unsocial hours.
The role is to provide care and support on a flexible basis to people with a learning difficulty/ disability who are staying within a Respite House.
Looking for a challenge? Enjoy supporting people? We are currently seeking to recruit enthusiastic staff and self-motivated individual to join our team of Social Care Workers providing support to individuals within our Learning Disability Respite Homes.
Experience of supporting people within a social care respite setting is desirable but not essential, as successful applicants will be expected to bring their own life experiences and skills to the role. You will be provided with an induction, ongoing relevant training, and supervision to carry out your work effectively. This will require mandatory training such as Positive Behaviour Management, PEG feeding training as you will be required to support individuals with a diverse range of care and support needs. You will need to have obtained or demonstrate commitment to work towards the relevant qualifications and work in accordance with the Code of Professional Practice for Social Care and you will be required to register with Social Care Wales.
Due to services being delivered 365 days per year, the successful applicants will be required to cover a range of shifts on a rota basis, including but not limited to: evenings, wake nights, weekends, and Bank holidays including Christmas & New Year.
